To lazy to start another blog, plus I'm at work, but threw my 3rd 300 game last night. And just like my others, I caught at least one lucky shot last night.

Congrats, yea it's luck, but if you hit the corner pin just off center to the inside enough times, eventually it will go. The sad thing is that it happens so fast that you can't believe it when it happens!

You'll do it again, with the way some of these alleys are loading up oil right in front of the pins, you'll get plenty of oportunities as long as your continue to bowl.

WOW TONITE (11-17-05 ) I PICKED UP THE 7-10 I'VE ONLY BEEN BOWLING IN LEAGUES FOR THE LAST 2 1/2 YRS, IT WAS PURE LUCK BECAUSE I WAS PISSED OFF THAT AFTER A CLEAN GAME I LEFT IT IN THE 10TH ON MY 1ST BALL. I HAD 183 IN THE 7TH WITH 2 STRIKES GOING INTO THE 10TH AND LEFT IT! I WAS PISSED AND THREW THE BALL AS HARD AS I COULD AT THE 7 AND IT CAME OFF THE CURTAIN AND TRIPPED THE 10 ! ONLY FINISHED WITH A 220 BUT WHAT THE HELL I'LL PROBABLY NEVER DO IT AGAIN. LOL ROB

Yea, picked the 4-6-7 up this past Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005. I just through the ball hard at the 4-7 and knocked one of them out to jump the 6. Not a biggy, thought I had a pretty good chance after I through the ball; must really be bored at work today!

Yep, got my award tonight for picking up the 7-10 Split! This is what you get when you pick up the 7-10 Split.

I also received a patch for picking up the Big Four Split. I picked that split up last year, but told the bowling guy at the desk that I never received it, so wala.

The 7-10 split, as well as the Big Four are regarded as a couple of the hardest tasks to accomplish in the sporting world. As you can see by the chart below the 7-10 Split are the right and left back pins (7 and 10 pin); only. And the Big Four are the pins: 4, 6, 7, and 10. So I do have a few bowling rings, as well as plaques, but these two were the biggies that I wondered were ever going to happen for me.

 

Yea, pretty sure I saw one of my best friends from high school last night. Really weird it was, some dude walking by me that looked like him, kind of like seeing a long lost brother or something. I wasn't sure if it was him, but after I passed him I turned around and so did he, erie huh. But he disappeared into, which is probably best, the last time I talked with him he had left the state because bookies were after him; hopefully he gets himself back on track.

WOW, what a night, there must have been a full moon out or something to that effect. Well other than an old girlfriend leaving irrational messages on my blog, I normally don't get too many replies, but this is a personal site dealing with a variety of issues pertaining to my life so this in away has become my journal. So to make a short(but goofy) story short I have been bowling on and off since I was 6; maybe even younger, can't remember. I am good, probably could have spent my life doing it for a living, but never had the life-long desire to pursue that plus I don't like traveling for work. But I have a streak going and it isn't any big deal, except to me. The streak is that I have shot over 600, for 3 games in league play, for somewhere around 40 to 45 weeks in a row; that's league play. The record in one league is 112, but the record in consecutive league play is 66; these records can be found in the downloadable .pdf at Bowl.com. See I only bowl in one league, Thursday nights in the WBNS league over at Palace lanes and the man who is 3rd on the list is Ron "Stromie" Stromfeld who is the Pro Shop proprietor at Sawmill Lanes here in Columbus, as well. So tonight that was on the line, at least from my end.

Like I said, I am a decent bowler and probably 80% of my games are over 200, unfortunately tonight was not one of them. During practice I was completely lost, had no clue what to do. No matter what sport you are in, sometimes things just don't feel right and sometimes things just don't go your way; like tonight. I would guess that in league play I average throwing a strike about 60% of the time, tonight at least through the first game that was about 16%. I shot around 165 for the first game after throwing I believe 2 strikes and picking up the bucket (2, 4, 5, 8). If you are unfamiliar with bowling, then here is a 5 minute Photoshop I put together.

 

The second game I think I had 201, which was a little better but I seemed to have 4 splits. I left the 4 - 9 twice and missed it twice, but did pickup the 2 - 8 - 10; as you can see the last 1 was very difficult, if not lucky. And the 7-10 which this blog folder is about is the most difficult of all, so to cut to it, my streak was in terrible jeopardy. And the last game, it started out well then I left the 6 - 7 split. Well I was already calculating what I needed to shoot to get to 600, and that was 234. Well if I leave to many low counts, I will drop 10 pins. For example if my score is 123 in the 6th frame, then I will have to shoot need to throw an extra strike in a row because in bowling, the scoring has mostly to do with 10, 20, and 30; so leaving a low count on the first ball would be critical. I made it to the 7th frame and I was on a strike and my figuring was that I needed at least 2 more strikes in a row to get over the 600 hump. Well I left the 4 - 9 split and was at the point where I was ready to give up a year and a half of work. I was thinking if I pick it up, which is very difficult, I would have 135 pins in the sixth frame; which means I would still need to throw 3 strikes in a row between 8th and 11th frames. If I were to miss both of the pins, I would then have 143 in the 7th frame and would have a maximum score of 233, which would not be enough. So I took the easy way out, if you can call it that, and just picked up one of the pins, leaving me with 144 in the 7th frame with a maximum score of 234; which is cutting it way too close for comfort. So I basically needed to throw strikes in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th frames to hit 600. Well to finish the story I did, and was very realived!

But that's only part of the story, then second part is I was driving a bowler on my team home who lives in the downtown area of Columbus. Well, as ussual it was a nice and calm night and I was cruisin' down the highway going about 73 or so. Sure that is speeding, but I prefer to space myself from the main clusters of traffic because I prefer it that way, plus I haven't gotten a ticket for speeding in some 9 years or more. But as we were getting off of one highway onto another, I noticed a black car come up behind me at a very high rate of speed. It was a little before midnight, so I was just in cruisin' mood. Well my lane ends, so this jerk decides to play games with me by pulling into my blind spot and not letting me over. My first response is to speed up, so I did. So we were racing down 670W at a very high rate of speed, I am guessing 110+, but as usual I beat him. I was so darn mad, going 110+ and someone is trying to play games with me, I wanted to roll my window down, but my left hand was busy giving off signs of my displeasure.

Well I can remember around Christmas, a similar situation happened and it was the same make of car and the same color as well as window tinting coming from the same direction. Well it just so happens a person who bowls in my league has the exact same model, color, and window tinting; geeze what a coincidence. This car is a black Lexus GS 430 and the person who drives it is someone I know. Well as my left hand was doing its thing, it all of a sudden changed to a point, and that is because I realized who it was. Well, the person I know, you have to be feeling pretty down, spending 50K on a so called superior Japanese car and you get smoked by this:

Yep, this blue collar broken down rust bucket American ride just whipped the hell out of your fancy Japanese super car. If I was you I would take that piece and dump it into the South Pacific with all the other Japanese wreckage from WWII. Maybe next time you can buy something from an American company and not only save a job as well as your dignity, but something that lasts 15 to 20 years. See I don't need to be fancy to show people I am educated, I have degrees and what not; but what I don't have and have never had is a car payment. I sometimes think I am smart, but really not; but one thing for sure is that I don't lose and I don't take kindly to people playing with my life trying to show off. The next time that happens, I am running you, J.C., off the road.

BTW, I think I am bowling J.C. next week so something will probably be said; probably something like think twice who you mess with, you never know, the person may be someone who knows you, someone who has been working out for 20 years, and someone who never loses.
